Privacy policy

Effective October 4, 2026 Publisher: JamesonB Designs Website: https://JamesonbDesigns.com

What CoDev does CoDev is a Windows desktop companion that shows local Codex activity and information from developer services you enable. CoDev does not have its own user accounts, advertising, analytics tracking, or a publisher-operated data collection service.

Local Codex information If enabled, CoDev reads Codex session event files on this computer to detect task activity, completed chats, and reported usage limits. These files may contain conversation content, but CoDev uses the activity and usage events; it does not upload chat content or session files to JamesonB Designs or to another provider. The local Codex adapter uses internal event formats and may require updates as Codex changes.

Optional service connections When you enable and save GitHub, Vercel, Simple Analytics, or Supabase, CoDev sends read-only HTTPS requests directly to that service. Requests include your selected repository, project or website and the access token or API key you provide, when required. The provider also receives normal connection information such as your IP address. CoDev displays workflow and deployment status, aggregate website statistics, or project metadata. No credentials or provider results are sent to JamesonB Designs. Provider accounts, subscriptions, permissions and privacy policies remain governed by those providers.

Storage and security Connection settings, tokens and keys are stored on this device and encrypted with Windows Data Protection for your Windows account. Preferences are stored locally. Service results and graph data are held in memory while the app runs. CoDev does not create a chat transcript archive or log your tokens. Protect your Windows account and device; local encryption does not protect against software already able to act as you.

Your controls and deletion Disable any service in Connections to stop its monitoring. Use Clear and Save to remove its saved target and token. You may also revoke tokens with the original provider. Startup is optional and can be changed in CoDev or Windows Settings. Quit CoDev from its tray menu to stop all monitoring. The MSIX edition stores data in its package's LocalState folder, which Windows normally removes on uninstall. The portable edition retains its settings in %LOCALAPPDATA%\DeveloperNotch; deleting that folder after quitting removes its local settings and credentials. Uninstalling CoDev does not delete your provider accounts, Codex chats, or revoke tokens at the provider.

Website The CoDev website uses no cookies, accounts, forms, analytics scripts, or tracking pixels. Its hosting provider may process routine connection and security logs. Links to external sites open those sites, whose own policies apply.

Children and changes CoDev is a developer utility and is not directed to children. This policy will be updated when CoDev's data practices change.
